Cats for Adoption

Cats for Homing

There are always dozens of cats in the shelter looking for a home, so it would be impossible to show them all. Below are some of our cats. Please do come and visit the shelter to meet more. If you do not find a suitable cat straight away, do keep coming back, as there are more cats up for homing every week.

Breed Domestic Short hair
Date in 19/70/12
Age 9 years
Sex Female Spayed
Reason for admittance Owner pregnant
To go with children Children aged 10 years+
To go with other animals Only pet
Other information Stella is a scared girl who can react quite aggressively when she feels threatened. She desperately wants to be friends and will head butt you for lots of attention, but she is currently handshy. If you're too full on with her she begins to become scared and will swipe out in defence. Stella will need a confident and experienced owner who will have a "hands off" approach initially whilst they help her realise that hands are not something to be scared of.

Breed Domestic Short Hair
Date in 06/03/13
Age 10 months (approx)

To go with children Calm children aged 5 years+
To go with other animals Cannot live with dogs but can live with other cats
Other information Blackie was shy and wary when she first came into us but know she has had time to settle she is much more happier and her confidence has grown. She is now a very friendly girl who loves having a fuss made of her, she purrs constantly when you spend time with her and she head butts lots for attention. Blackie will need an understanding owner who will give her a slow and gradual introduction to her new home as she is not very confident in places she doesn't know. It takes her time to settle and adjust to new environments.

Other information Mr Tumnus is a wary boy who is very jumpy in this environment and is not happy out being surrounded by so many other cats. Sadly he is not relaxed enough to show his true personality here although he loves having a gentle fuss made of him (with a loud purr to prove it!) He growls and hisses because he is unsure of the noises and hustle and bustle of the cattery. In a quiet, calm home with an experienced owner who will give him a very gradual introduction to his new home Mr Tumnus will start to relax once settle,

LILLY

Lily 618_web.jpg

Breed Domestic Short Hair
Date in 28/12/12
Age Adult
Sex Female
Reason for admittance Owner died
To go with children Older children aged 12 years and over
To go with other animals Only pet
Other information Poor Lilly came to use because her owner died. When she first arrived she was scared and unsure and turned this into aggression towards the staff. We gave her plenty of time to settle and find her feet and now she is much happier and relaxed. Lilly now loves a fuss but is still a bit suspicious and wary of your intentions at first. Lilly needs an experienced and understanding owner who will give her time to settle into her new home, but also help build her trust and confidence. She is very playful and loves treats so these are both great ways to interact and build a friendship with her.

Breed Domestic Short Hair
Date in 03/12/12
Age 9 years
Sex Female Spayed
Reason for admittance Children lost interest in her
To go with children Children aged 10 years+

Other information Rosie is an independent girl who enjoys your company but also likes to have her own space. She loves being groomed and stroked but will let you  know once she's had enough by either walking away or hissing at you. Rosie has a very sensitive stomach which is easily controlled by a special diet she is on. Sadly however it means she has to stick to this diet and cannot have anything else (treats, cat milk etc.) as it will make her sick.

Other information Poor Oddy is having a rough time at the moment, first she gets abandoned by her owner, then she finds herself in this stressful environment surrounded by lots of other cats (all of which she really dislikes!) Oddy is a friendly and affectionate girl and will let you know when she wants a fuss made of her. She also has a very independent streak in her and will not hesitate in letting you know when she has had enough or if you're doing something she dislikes. Oddy is looking for a home with an experienced owner who will understand her independent side.
