Resident Photographer

Trevor has been the resident photographer here at the Ark since 2014

I am Trevor Firth founder of Paws 4 Thought Images, an emerging photography enterprise based in Hampshire and the resident photographer of the Stubbington Ark.

Since May 2014 I have been volunteering at the Stubbington Ark taking pictures of the rescue animals. This role came about after I did a photography course with Andy Biggar, a world famous dog photographer. Andy challenged his students to ‘go and make a difference’ and help an animal rescue center by giving up our time to take quality images of the animals in care to improve their chances of re-homing. The rest as they say is history!

I have a passionate interest in photography which I have combined with my love for dogs and all things four legged and in some unfortunate circumstances 3 legged! I have gained a wealth of experience in animal photography whilst working at the Ark and from my private commissions as well as photographing my own dog Merlin and his friends.

For my dog images I concentrate on capturing the character of the dog so that prospective owners can see the true personality as opposed to that of a dog in a kennel. For my non-dog images it is a bit more challenging but again I strive to portray the character of the animal whatever it may be.

I hope you enjoy my work contained in the galleries of this website as I certainly enjoy being part of the team that brings hope to these wonderful animals. If you like my work please feel free to look at my website p4timages.com where you will find more examples of my work.
