Veterinary Centre - Stubbington Ark

Since the Stubbington Ark Animal Shelter relocated to Stubbington in 1987, the number of displaced domestic pets, wildlife and exotic animals crossing our threshold has quadrupled.

There is no end to the variety and number of reasons why animals come to the Ark.  Unwanted, strays, casualties, neglect and welfare cases all deserve to receive first class treatment from the dedicated team of staff at the Shelter.

The Stubbington Ark Animal Shelter is the largest and one of the busiest re-homing centres in the country, covering 400 sq.miles.

Vets are now on site 5 days a week for operations (mainly neutering of cats, dogs, ferrets, rabbits and guinea pigs). Theatre work is followed by ward rounds and consultations in every section of the Shelter.

This routine has slowly evolved to meet the demands of the number of animals at the Shelter

Usually approx 150 cats, 120 dogs and up to 300 small animals and wildlife

Having full operating facilities on site means animals no longer have to travel to distant practices to relieve pain and trauma as it is all on hand.

Operating costs are reduced, there are fewer travel costs, less wear and tear on our ambulance and a reduction in the amount of staff time needed to transport animals.

We are now offering veterinary services to Regional RSPCA Inspectors and Animal Collection Officers.  This brings income into the Ark to support the Veterinary Centre and Regional RSPCA benefits from reduced fees, allowing better use of their resources.

The Veterinary Centre provides quality veterinary care to meet the demands of 21st century welfare.

Our commitment to the care of animals, together with first class clinical services and treatment makes the Stubbington Ark Veterinary Centre a place of excellence for animal care.

SORRY - THE VETERINARY CENTRE AT THE STUBBINGTON ARK IS NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC BUT IS FOR THE TREATMENT OF ON SITE SHELTER ANIMALS ONLY
